St Swithin's Church in Barston

St. Swithin's Weekend

11 - 13th July 2008

We look forward to welcoming everyone from far and wide for this bi-annual event.

Friday 11th

The weekend starts with a short 20 minute service in the Church at 2pm. After the service up to 5.30pm, the Flower Festival can be viewed in the church with this years theme being 'POETRY PLEASE'. The ART and CRAFT EXHIBITION will be open in the Memorial Institute, and LIGHT REFRESHMENTS will be available in St. Swithin's House and Garden.

Saturday 12th

We open at 10.30am and besides the above, there will be the opportunity to climb the CHURCH TOWER to see the Bell Chamber and to find out how the bells work. You may even have the opportunity to ring a bell too!!

There will be SELF GUIDED and GUIDED TOURS around the CHURCH YARD, and one or two GARDENS to be viewed in the Parish. Our thanks to those that have very kindly offered to open their gardens.
5.30 pm Finish.

Sunday 13th

We begin at 10.30am with an OPEN AIR SERVICE in St. Swithin's House Garden.
All events re-open at 12.30pm and the day finishes at 5.30pm.

 

There will be ample FREE CAR PARKING behind the Bull's Head, by kind permission of Mike Bradley - Manager of the Bull's Head.

A detailed programme of all events will be available on arrival.
